Our Summer Camp Programs
Kettleby Valley Camp offers weekly day camp programs for children who have completed junior kindergarten all the way up to grade eight. For those in grade nine we have a Leader-In-Training Program. Day camper groups of up to 12 campers and 1 or 2 counsellors, depending on age, are divided into groups based on the grade they just completed in school. Activities such as Arts & Crafts, Nature, Canoeing, Climbing Wall, High or Low Ropes, Drama, Camp Craft, Archery, Cross Bow, Bouldering, Cooperative Games and Swimming are scheduled for each group. Day camp sessions begin on Monday and end on Friday; we are closed for the Civic Holiday in August. Bus transportation or Before and After Hours, and daily hot lunch are included in the fees.
For those who are looking for a sleepover program, we offer an overnight camp with one or two week sessions. Overnight camp is for those who have completed grade three through eight. These campers participate in our R.I.S.E. Program and can choose some of their daily activities. In addition to the day camp activities listed above, this program offers Paintball, Pottery, Leather Craft, and an introduction to Kayak Roles. Each session begins on Sunday and ends on Friday. On site drop-off is between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Sunday, and pick-up is between 4:15 pm and 5:30 pm on Friday.
For our oldest campers at Kettleby Valley Camp, (completed grades seven or eight), we offer a week-long canoe trip in Algonquin Park. The first two days are spent on site here at camp working on the canoeing and camping skills needed to make the trip safe and successful. On Monday morning the group departs for the north west corner of Algonquin Park where they begin their five day/four night canoe trip. On Friday the participants return to Kettleby Valley Camp in time for departure at 4:00 pm.
Our Outdoor Education Programs
Throughout the Spring and Fall months, Kettleby Valley Camp offers outdoor education experiences for schools and other organized groups. Like our summer camp, our outdoor education programs can be delivered as a day program or a multi-day overnight experience. We combine outdoor activities such as Ropes Course, Climbing Wall and Initiative Tasks with facilitation to develop leadership and problem-solving skills within the group. Groups range in age from grade 2 to adult and our program is adapted to suit the needs and goals of each group.
Kettleby Valley Camp offers organizations such as Brownies, Guides, Beavers and Scouts weekend rental of our facility. Our cabins can accommodate up to 80 people overnight in May/June or September/October. Washrooms and showers are centrally located close to the cabins in our main lodge.
