MORE THAN JUST A SUMMER CAMP
In addition to our summer camp programs, Kettleby Valley Camp and Outdoor Centre offers exciting leadership, educational and recreational-based programs on a year-round basis. Located on almost 60 acres of mainly forested land and close to many urban centres, we have an excellent opportunity to give groups a unique outdoor experience.
Many schools use our facility during the week for day and residential visits, and on the weekend, organized groups such as Guides, Brownies, Scouts, and school clubs rent our facility. Our facility can accommodate up to 60 people for overnights and we offer both catered meals and use of our kitchen facilities.
LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS
We offer a variety of leadership activities for groups. We provide programs that instill confidence within the individuals, while developing unity within the group. Our experienced staff provides an environment that encourages teamwork and communication. The leadership activities include co-operative games, group initiatives, climbing walls and ropes course.
RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
These activities offer land and water-based activities that offer an exciting beginning or end to the school year. These activities include orienteering, climbing wall, low and high ropes course, canoeing, archery, the web of life game, group initiatives, cooperative games, nature games, snow shelter construction, ice skating, and tobogganing.
CURRICULUM PROGRAMS
We offer several exciting programs that meet the curriculum expectations for various grades. Some examples include our ‘Home Sweet Home’ and ‘Web of Life’ programs for the Grade 4 Habits and Communities strand and our ‘On Solid Ground?’ program for the Grade 7 Earth’s Crust Strand. These programs come with all of the resources that teachers need to complete the unit in the classroom including tests, worksheets, rubrics and student work books.
